I had seen salt pearls or pearl salts used before, but never in relation to body care, says Emily Voth, owner of Indigo Wild. She continued, We are always searching for new, never-before-seen products. And were all really into food, wine and sensory experiences, so it makes sense wed find inspiration from the food world.
So, they started playing around in the Poodle compound, as they affectionately call the production area, and found pure essentials penetrate the salt balls making for the best aromatherapeutic bath. Because we manufacture everything in-house, we have the flexibility to play round with new ideas all of the time. When we discovered these would make amazing bath salts, we thought, why not make them into a novelty product for the holidays, explains Voth.
At Indigo Wild, when a new product surfaces everyone is a part of the process. Employees get to test potential new products on themselves. Through testing, we all fell in love with the salt balls. It dissolved at a slower pace than smaller bath salts, so the skin care benefits and aromatherapy lasted far longer than we expected. We also loved its ability to soothe aching muscles, recalls Voth.
Indigo Wild thinks that bigger is better when it comes to great, all-natural products. So theyve created a jumbo Zum line that includes Zumbo Kisses (extra-large lip balms) as well as the New Zumbo Salt Balls.
