How do I make cleaning the house more fun?
Okay, don’t get me wrong - I DO clean ;-) I just have a heck of a time sticking with it & not feeling like I’m being tortured while I do it. I do play upbeat music….have tried timing myself by the song, i.e. getting certain tasks done before a song is over…but none of it is working today. I NEED to get the house clean but I don’t wanna. I know I’m going to have to turn this PC off for one thing ;-)
Anyway, any constructive ideas would be much appreciated!!!

i listen to very loud alternative rock music! they rock… i sort of move to the music– if i’m the only one at the house– and i end up finishing the work…
I always crank up some AC/DC. It helps me want to get up and move.

Check out FLYLADY.net. She’s got a houseful of great ideas of how to do the work and enjoy it. The website is loaded with helpful hints to get your house in shape and keep it that way. I love her idea of baby steps. Check it out before you turn off the PC.
Hey, well, I was just about to suggest music when I read what you wrote. =^^= Hmm, try using Swiffer Cleaners! They’re a lot more convenient and quick, and have you seen the commercials? Where once everyone’s out of sight, the ladies start dancing while cleaning? Haha, okay, so maybe not. x) Hmm, why not try dancing while cleaning? Or … promise yourself something nice after you clean up something, like a nice rest on the couch with some wine and a good book or a shopping spree. Also, don’t time yourself. Instead, focus on one area at a time, and treat your dirty floors or appliances as you would a child … Delicately. View what you need to clean in different parts, not the whole picture. Like if you need to clean your whole house, break it down into the living room, kitchen, etc. Or if need be, just the microwave. This way, after you’ve finished cleaning up one window in your house, you can start rejoicing. =^^= It’s all about your attitude toward what you do in life.
